Shadow Brume is a 1-6 player cooperative horror game where a sentient, predatory house plucks victims from across history. Trapped together, you must explore its rooms, manage dwindling light, and unlock your unique abilities to find the house's weak point before it consumes you all.

Architect

Captured: 1998

The Architect was very prominent in his field until a sudden, unexplained blindness forced him to retire. While on a walk, he could see something in the darkness: a speck of light. As he gets closer, he sees a shattered house floating in the void. Each fragment is a piece of his architecture. He knows this phenomenon is not human. This has to be the cause of his blindness, and it is trying to lure him in.

Journalist

Captured: 1998

The Journalist’s desire to be recognized as a world-class investigative journalist overcomes her instincts for self-preservation. Covering the Gulf War was proof of that. She has made it her mission to debunk myths and expose frauds. People are missing, but a legend about a predator mist that possesses houses? There has to be a simpler explanation. But why do her investigations always point to this mythical “Shadow Brume” being real?

Lost Soldier

Captured: 1915

A British soldier in the trenches of WWI knows the terrors of war that few will ever experience. However, given a choice, he would rather go back into the trenches than to face this house of horror. The last thing he remembered was running for a dugout and seeing a red skull appear right in front of him.

Mystic

Captured: 2003

The Mystic has felt a negative shift in the universe and is seeking an empathic connection with “the house.” If she finds the house is set on causing evil, she will discover its weakness and destroy it. The Mystic has a very real connection to the many realms of existence and the beings that live there. When guiding her clients through their spiritual journey, she’s a pragmatist. She’ll use whatever tools work. Right now, tarot cards are a favorite among her clients.

Bounty Hunter

Captured: 2007

The Bounty Hunter has been tracking down a high profile fugitive that he believes is hiding in the house. Only a crazy person would go to such an extent to hide from justice, and only a crazier person would go after them. Then again, being crazy is part of the job description.

Vendetta Twin

Captured: 2026

Intoxicated with hate towards the house, the Vendetta Twin seeks revenge for the death of her twin sister. After years of failing to destroy the house from the outside, she changes her strategy to cut its heart out from within.

Power Baron

Captured: 1929

The Power Baron’s drug of choice is power: all kinds of power. He believes the lifeblood of the world is energy. There are legends of a house that can spirit itself in and out of existence. The power to do so must be practically unlimited, and the Power Baron will do anything to exploit it.

Astro Anthropologist

Captured: 15000 (Approximate)

The Astro Anthropologist is a scientist from the future seeking to understand mankind’s early beginnings. He will accomplish this by traveling back in time. He discovers a wake in time that wasn’t created by any known technology. He lands on a dead Earth to investigate.
